Transformers 4 has added another cast member in TJ Miller, according to a Tuesday report from The Hollywood Reporter . Miller will play a fellow auto mechanic and confidante to the film’s lead human actor, Mark Wahlberg.
Miller cut his teeth in the world of stand-up comedy, but made the switch to acting with the 2007 TV series Carpoolers . One year later, he would hit the big screen with the monster movie/shaky-cam project Cloverfield .
According to his IMDb resume, Miller has starred in 45 projects in the last six years (not counting this latest credit).
For Transformers 4 , which we’re sure will be named something else by the time it hits theaters in 2014, Miller will join a cast that includes Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, and, most recently , Li Bingbing. Director Michael Bay has scheduled shooting for the United States and China this summer.
Events will pick up four years after the “final battle” in Chicago (featured in 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon ), and Bay has said that it will be the shortest film in the series.

The new film will feature Lockdown, who is said to be the new major villain alongside Galvatron. For those of you who saw the animated film, Galvatron was the character created from the broken body of Megatron.
Lockdown apparently has a ship full of decommissioned robots in the latest sequel, including the Dinobots, who are reactivated and join Optimus Prime and the Autobots. Another new good guy will be Hound.
