Mitt Romney has laid quite low since he lost the Presidential election last November. The Republican former governor of Massachusetts appears to finally be coming back into the public eye. Reports indicate that Romney will give his first post-election speech at CPAC and now it appears his first post-election television interview will go to Fox News .
The Boston Herald reports that Romney will sit down for a taped interview with Chris Wallace. The interview will eventually air of Fox News Sunday . Romney’s attempts to stay out the public eye have been almost the stuff of legend with random sightings of the politician making headlines.
While some Republicans have gone out of their way to distance themselves from their former nominee, Romney has said that he won’t just be fading away into obscurity. Comments like the ones he made about 47 percent of the country are likely to haunt Romney for years to come and may be the reason he is making his first television appearance on a friendly network like Fox.
The Guardian reports that Mitt’s wife Anne will also sit down for the interview. Anne Romney was a very well known face during the presidential election and has been almost as elusive as her husband since November. The Romney’s will sit down for the interview in their Southern California home.
The interview will air next Sunday and could serve as a way for Romney to reintroduce himself to the Republican party, just weeks ahead of his CPAC appearance. Mitt Romney issued a release about his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference in which he showed his enthusiasm at the upcoming performance saying:
“I look forward to saying thank you to the many friends and supporters who were instrumental in helping my campaign,”
As of yet, the Romneys aren’t planning any other post election interviews besides the one for Fox.
