Tom Arnold and wife Ashley Groussman have welcomed a baby boy after overcoming years of fertility issues.
The 54-year-old comedian and his wife welcomed Jax Copeland Arnold at 9.53am on Saturday, April 6. Arnold’s rep confirmed the new arrival to Us Weekly , saying the tot was a healthy 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and measured 21 inches long.
Tom Arnold’s baby boy means the former Roseanne and True Lies actor has become a dad after years of going through several rounds of in vitro fertilization with wife Ashley.
Speaking on The View , Arnold said:
“We’re really happy. I didn’t think it was in the cards for me, to be honest, and so I was completely shocked. It’s a miracle.”
It was on The View that Arnold first broke the news of his wife’s pregnancy. While co-hosting the show, the actor quipped, “I’m pregnant. I have put on, like, 40 pounds. My wife is pregnant too. We’re having a baby.”
Arnold has been married three times before he tied the knot with Groussman in 2009. Among Arnold’s ex-wives is comedienne Roseanne Barr , who ran for president in 2012. During last year’s elections, Arnold confirmed he wouldn’t be voting for his ex-wife, saying: “I’m voting for Obama, but for God’s sake let Roseanne have her pot … she’s 60.”
Since the birth, the comedian has also revealed his son may be the silent type:
