Maci Bookout and her fiance, Taylor McKinney, are seen getting engaged during the just-released Season 6 trailer for Teen Mom OG.
Following years of dating, Maci Bookout’s fiance proposed to her on the beach as cameras rolled for the new season.
“No way!” Maci Bookout exclaims when McKinney gets down on one knee. “Finally!”
Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney began dating in 2012, and share two children together, daughter Jayde Carter McKinney, 1, and son Maverick Reed, nearly 2 months.

Throughout their relationship, Maci Bookout made it clear that she intended to marry McKinney and throughout the fifth season of Teen Mom OG , she expressed her frustration with McKinney’s delay in popping the question. In fact, during an interview with Us Weekly just one month prior to McKinney’s proposal, Maci Bookout admitted to being confused at her partner’s mindset.
“It’s so to the point where I’m like, ‘Really, what is the deal?’” Maci Bookout told the magazine in December of last year.
“Marriage is something I want in my life,” Bookout continued. “In my opinion — and I think Taylor would agree — we pretty much are already married. So it’s kind of like, ‘All right, what are we waiting on?’ I’m confused.”
Luckily, just weeks later, during a visit to Los Angeles, McKinney popped the question on the beach in Venice, where Bookout thought she was going to film an interview for MTV.
During an interview with MTV News after the proposal , Maci Bookout admitted to being in shock and said she was unsure if the engagement had sunk in. She also said she was excited that she was going to get to marry McKinney, who she noted as an “amazing man and dad.”
Following the proposal, during which both Bentley, 7, and Jayde, 1, were on hand, Maci Bookout revealed her oldest son, whose father is her ex-fiance, Ryan Edwards, would serve as McKinney’s mini best man during their upcoming wedding.
“Taylor has asked Bentley to be his ‘mini’ best man, and Bentley agreed,” Maci Bookout said. “Not sure he is aware of the responsibilities of a best man, but I’m sure he will do just fine! Jayde will definitely have a part in our wedding too — it’s just a matter of figuring it out considering she is still so young. I am excited to have them share this day with us.”

While Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney have not yet announced their wedding date, a report by Radar Online in May claimed their wedding photographer, Brittany Photographs, had accidentally released the previously secret information on their website.
“October 7 & 9 – Tallahassee, Florida,” read a message on the photographers website, which has since been deleted.
As for whether or not Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney would be getting married on an episode of Teen Mom OG, an on-screen wedding appeared to be a possibility just months ago when Bookout spoke to Reveal UK about her ceremony.
“[Catelynn Lowell] has given me some tips on having the camera crew and MTV be a part of it,” she explained to the outlet, via Radar Online . “Filming is a lot of work. So having that added stress can be a little tough.”
If Maci Bookout’s ceremony does air on the show, fans may have to wait until Season 7 to see it.
