Jimmy Buffett is said to be in stable condition after a fall from a stage during a concert in Sydney.

Buffett, 64, was unconscious for “several minutes” following the fall into a pit near the stage, and appeared bloodied, eyewitnesses reported. Attendees were asked to leave as Buffett lay waiting for assistance where he fell, and witnesses say that a loud banging noise was audible as the singer hit his head on a large metal bar on the way down. It was reported that a large flash of light may have impeded Buffett’s ability to judge where the stage ended, and that the singer had a “huge gash” on his head.

Reps for Buffett released the following statement about his injury:

As you probably already know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital. The doctors say he is doing well and will be released tomorrow. More info as we get it, and thank you for all of your well-wishes!
