It’s been noticed that many celebs, such as Kanye West and Kim Karshashian, are on the move and hunting for new homes. Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos have officially joined that list. But why they would they leave the place behind?
Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos have put their New York City loft on the market for about three times what they paid, according to the New York Daily News . They purchased the home in 2005 for $9.1 million.
The gorgeous home, located in the high-end Soho neighborhood, has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen, not to mention dark-oak floors and a floating staircase against a Balinese feature wall, itself extending between the home’s two floors.
A source close to the couple who has been in the home says:
“You look at them and say, wow, they really made it. This is how celebrities are supposed to live. But it’s tasteful , and suitable for a family which you don’t find a lot in downtown lofts.”
Ripa had decorated the home with clean-lined furnishings, which highlight the height of the ceilings. She ensured several seats in the kitchen with three kids in the house. There are also two dishwashers from Electrolux, which is natural considering Ripa represents that company. The island is a dark contrast to the mostly white kitchen, and intentionally resembles a card catalog, says Huffington Post .
Ripa and Consuelos have been trying to sell it secretly since 2010.
One of the brokers is Douglas Elliman’s Raphael De Niro, whose father is actor Robert De Niro. De Niro and his partner are known citywide for working closely with A-list clients. There’s a fun fact for the kids.
