The Cincinnati Bengals were putting a lot of faith that Adam “Pacman” Jones’ off the field issues were behind him. That doesn’t appear to be the case. The cornerback was arrested for disorderly conduct in Ohio Monday morning.
Adam Jones was a passenger in a car pulled over at 2:30 am for speeding. The driver, Tinisha Holmes, was driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. She refused a sobriety test and was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
Jones was then cited with disorderly conduct. It is not yet known what he did to the officer to get the ticket.
Both Jones and Holmes were released by on their own recognizance. They have a court date scheduled for September 27th.
Adam “Pacman” Jones entered the NFL in 2005 with the Tennessee Titans . He was taken with the sixth overall pick the draft, despite a number of off field issues at West Virginia.
In 2007 Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on multiple felony charges. He was sentenced to one year probation and 200 hours of community service. He was also suspended by the NFL for one year.
The Titans traded the troubled player to the Cowboys in 2008. He was eventually reinstated by the NFL. Unfortunately, the Cowboys were not happy with Jones’ continued behavior issues, and released him after a year.
Adam Jones then spent a year in the Canadian Football League before returning to the NFL in 2010 with the Bengals. He had been a model citizen since his return.
The arrest is Jones’ eighth since he was drafted by the Titans. He has a number of court dates coming up that could determine his future in the NFL.
It will be interesting to see how the NFL handles Adam “Pacman” Jones most recent arrest. He wasn’t driving the vehicle, but was still cited with disorderly conduct.
