LuAnn de Lesseps was recently considering having a baby with 38-year-old boyfriend Jacques Aszoulay, but those days are now long gone.
The Real Housewives of New York City star announced this week that she and Aszoulay have broken up after dating for three years.
A representative for de Lesseps said the two split amicably .
“They are at different points in their life now and have mutually agreed it is best,” the representative told Us Weekly . “LuAnn is upset, but it’s amicable and they remain friends. Jacques has been a wonderful part of her life.”
There had been signs of trouble in the relationship . Late last year, LuAnn was seen in a Real Housewives episode flirting with a Frenchman dressed up like Captain Jack Sparrow.
“You have to make a special pirate introduction,” LuAnn told the man. “I want to be special, not like your other pirate women.”
Viewers later saw LuAnn de Lesseps appear to reference an intimate encounter with the faux pirate.
Though it had all the trappings of a plotline on a scripted reality show , LuAnn still felt the need to clarify that she had not in fact cheated.
“What may have looked like infidelity on last night’s episode was in reality, a ride home and a tour of the house after an evening of fun on vacation eight months ago,” she said. “Do you think I would bring a man back to a houseful of housewives (and cameras) if I were planning on having an affair?”
De Lesseps started dating wine entrepreneur Aszoulay in 2010. Their relationship played a large role in the Real Housewives plot, including LuAnn mulling over whether she wanted another baby.
With Jacques Aszoulay now out of the picture, fans will still get a chance to see LuAnn de Lesseps on her own when the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New York City starts.
