10 Shot In Navy Yard Shooting, Multiple Fatalities Reported, May Be 3 Shooters [Updated]


An ongoing Navy Yard shooting incident in Washington, D.C. has resulted in four fatalities, and the “fluid” situation has not yet been fully clarified as police seek the active shooter.

The four killed in the Navy Yard shooting are among ten shot in total, and news reporters on the scene say victims are being rescued by helicopter with baskets as the situation continues.

The Navy Yard shooting suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, who is bald, dressed in black, and about six feet tall.

Earlier, it was reported that the shooter was barricaded inside building 197 at the Washington Navy Yard.

As of 10:20 AM, defense sources say that the shooter has been contained in the building, but is not yet in custody. People who have escaped the building report being directly shot at by the not yet identified man, and the witnesses say that the shooting began at around 8:20 AM.

The Department of Defense confirms fatalities in the Navy Yard shooting, but has not confirmed the number of victims nor indicated that there may be more than one shooter.

As the Navy Yard shooting remains a fluid situation, the U.S. Navy has confirmed “reports of fatalities” as well as several confirmed injured in the incident.
