Contrary to a recent report, Joey Fatone and his wife are not separated.
Star magazine reported that the 36-year-old and his wife Kelly Baldwin have been living apart since February .
“They pretend Joey is traveling for work, but really he just stays with friends,” a source told the tabloid, adding that the couple has kept their marriage troubles secret from their daughters, 12-year-old Briahna and 3-year-old Kloey.
Another source said that Fatone “flirted with women as if he was a single guy and he never wore his wedding ring” when he returned for Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars last year. Baldwin, supposedly, had started dating someone new and declined to comment when approached by Star.
Fatone, however, said the rumors simply aren’t true.
“We’re still married … kids are great,” Fatone told Yahoo’s OMG Insider . “We’re fine.” He also said that he and Baldwin, who was his high school sweetheart, recently took a vacation with their daughter.
Fatone blamed the negative attention on ‘N Sync’s brief reunion at the VMAs Sunday.
“When you’re on top, people try to knock you down,” he said. “Things start to get above, ‘Let’s make something up, let’s screw with the media, let’s throw things out there,’ you know? And that’s how it kind of went down.”
Fatone also answered another question that has been on everyone’s mind since the VMAs: Will ‘N Sync tour together again?
“That would be a huge negative at the moment because I’ve never — we’ve never talked about it, we never discussed it, never have, never did,” he said.
“It’s just more or less kind of doing something for [Justin], you know, like we said. We just wanted to get back together, everybody kind of agreed upon doing it and it wasn’t like, ‘Hey after this, were going to do this,’” he said. “There was no discussion about that.”
Joey Fatone and Kelly Baldwin have been married since 2004. They were together for 10 years before they finally tied the knot.
