Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs , is reportedly dating Adrain Fenty, the former mayor of Washington D.C.
Jobs, whose husband died in 2011, at the age of 56, having helped to change the landscape of the world with his various technological inventions at Apple, is believed to have met Fenty in 2011 at an education conference.
They have been close friends since, having bonded ofter their passion for school reform, and Fenty is thought to have separated from his wife of 15 years in January, but their divorce still isn’t confirmed.
Soon after they split, Fenty and Powell Jobs began their romance, and, last month, Powell Jobs was even pictured not wearing her wedding ring whilst she was on vacation in Italy. It’s believed that their relationship wasn’t behind the split.
Larry Brilliant, a friend of Jobs , told New York times earlier this year, “She’s been mourning for a year and was grieving for five years before that. Her life was about her family and Steve, but she is now emerging as a potent force on the world stage, and this is only the beginning.”
Adrian Fenty and Laurene Powell Jobs grew closer when he joined the board of College Track, which was founded by Jobs last year.
She released the following statement at the time: “Adrian Fenty is one of our country’s great advocates for education reform. His sense of urgency and record of accomplishment is unparalleled.”
Laurene Powell Jobs has maintained a low profile for several years, and continues to work in various charitable fields. However, she did give an interview in April, where she remarked, “His [Steve Jobs] private legacy with me and the kids is that of husband and father. And we miss him every day.”
Steve Jobs and Laurene Powell Jobs were married for 20 years before his death, after they met when she was a graduate student at Stanford. She is believed to have a fortune of around $10 billion, which she inherited when Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 56.
