Sesame Street Spoofs Sons Of Anarchy [Video]
Sesame Street has spoofed Sons of Anarchy. The clip is titled Sons of Poetry. However, the song, and puppets, are obviously based on the popular FX drama. The Sons of Poetry ride around on motorcycles, discuss poetry, and apparently have some relationship issues.
Sons of Anarchy is broadcast on the FX network. The critically acclaimed drama follows the adventures of a fictitious outlaw motorcycle club. The club is headquartered in a small town called Charming, California.
As the club members interact with local law enforcement, rival clubs, and each other, conflicts arise.
The club’s young vice president, Jax, struggles to find himself throughout the series. He eventually questions his involvement in the club, and the impact it will have on the rest of his life.
Jax’s loyalties are further tested as he reads through his late father’s diary. Jax’s father was killed while he was president of the club.
The Sesame Street Sons of Anarchy parody surfaced just in time for the hit dramas’ sixth season. Katy Segal discussed her role of Gemma at this year’s Comic-Con. Gemma is the wise, and often ruthless, matriarch of the Sons of Anarchy.
As reported by CS Monitor, Segal says that she enjoys the role, and the conflict that her character encounters. Segal discusses the upcoming season:
“As an actor, it makes it interesting… That’s part of the journey of being an actor, that you’re exploring the human condition in whatever form that’s going on. There are a few things in the season that I’m like, ‘Really?! Okay.'”
Sons of Anarchy was created by Segal’s husband Kurt Sutter. The show premiered in 2008, does not show any signs of slowing down. The hit drama series has received one Golden Globe Award, and rave reviews from critics and fans.
The Sesame Street Sons of Anarchy parody is a charming tribute to a well-loved and highly anticipated show.
