All the real cats know this special edition DSi LL (or DSi XL in the west) is where it’s at. This purdy, purdy thing is being released by Nintendo to milk celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary year . It is precisely how I like my limited edition DSes, which is subtle and red .
Furthermore, Joystiq noticed a second special edition console, the 25th Anniversary DSi you see below. Also bedecked in that delicious red, it has a sole Mario sprite stomping on the camera:
Both of these are out October 28 in Japan only, where I expect them to stay because the universe is cruel and enjoys laughing at my torment. The DSi LL (top) is ¥18,000 ($215), while the DSi is ¥14,800 ($177).
