If you don’t mind spending $249 on a special edition device (that’s rather cheap for a limited edition smartphone), then you might want to check out the Verizon Droid 2 R2-D2 Edition set to arrive at Verizon on September 30.
The $249 price comes after a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract. For that price you get a Star Wars themed dock and a box that’s made to look like carbonite. You’ll also notice various licensed wallpapers, sounds, photos, widgets and a “binoculars app” which has yet to be fully revealed.
As Engadget points out, it’s still unclear if the device will features the 1.2GHz process rumored for the Droid 2 World Edition.
