‘The Counselor’ Second Trailer For Ridley Scott’s Thriller


The Counselor, a feature film from director Ridley Scott has released a second trailer.

Cormac McCarthy wrote his first original screenplay for the film about a lawyer who goes over his head and gets involved with drug dealers.

The film includes heavy hitters, Michael Fassbender (Prometheus, Inglorious Basterds) as the counselor, Brad Pitt (World War Z, Killing Them Softly), Penelope Cruz (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Sex and the City 2), Cameron Diaz (What to Expect When you’re Expecting, Gambit), and Javier Bardem (Skyfall, Eat Pray Love).

The Counselor is based on the novel by John Grisham and was shot on location in London, England.

German born actor Michael Fassbeneder stars as an ambitious lawyer who thinks he can make easy money and gets involved in the dangerous world of drug trafficking.

Sir Ridley Scott is an award winning and prolific director, producer of our time. He and his brother Tony Scott, who tragically killed himself last year, were involved in some of the biggest hits of recent years beginning with The Duelist.

Some of Scott’s greatest productions include, Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Prometheus, and most recently Killing Lincoln.

Over the years the Scott brothers have not only been involved in major feature films, but several television programs such as the miniseries The Pillars of the Earth and its sequel World Without End, Coma, and Numb3rs as well as many documentaries.

On August 20, 2012 Ridley Scott had to suspend production due to his brother Tony’s tragic death, filming was resumed on Sept. 3.

Michael Fassbender is one of the most sought after leading men in film and has a strong supporting cast in The Counselor. He is slated to star in Scott’s Prometheus 2 as well as in Assassin’s Creed and is currently filming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Ridley Scott’s The Counselor opens in theaters on Oct. 25.
