Daft Punk Now Have Their Own Formula One Car

Daft Punk have had their logo emblazoned on a Formula One car, which will be driving in the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.

The dance legends have put their name across the Lotus Formula One car, a British team, whilst their Twitter page has stated that their French driver, Romain Grosjean, will #GetLucky during his endeavours in the race.

This is a reference to the band’s single, which has so far sold close to 650,000 copies in just over five weeks, making it the best selling track of the year.

Lotus are partnered with Columbia Records, who issued the band’s latest album, entitled Random Access Memories, which brought the collaboration together.

Daft Punk also feature in a 28-second clip alongside Lotus’ Formula One car, which is called, Daft Punk Comercial LOTUS f1 TEAM (Extended No Official). You can watch the video at the bottom of the page.

If you want to keep up to date with Lotus’ latest action from the Monaco Grand Prix, you can follow the Lotus F1’s Twitter page.

Daft Punk’s new album, Random Access Memories, is also on course to be the fastest selling album of 2013. It was released on Monday May 20, and the Official Chart data has declared that it is selling extremely well.

The band are also working on remix album of Random Access Memories, which they are hoping to release in June.

Thomas Bangalter told Tong magazine about the project, “We’re working on some mixes ourselves. So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time. The first track we’re remixing is ‘Get Lucky’. That will be out by the end of June.”

Are you looking forward to the Monaco Grand Prix? Do you think Daft Punk’s presence will inspire either Kimi Raikkonen or Romain Grosjean to victory?
