‘666 Park Avenue’ And ‘Last Resort’ Canceled By ABC, CBS Cancels ‘Partners’

ABC has officially canceled 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort .

The network will finish airing the series’ original 13-episode orders, but neither will receive a full-season pickup.

666 Park Avenue had been on the hook for cancellation for weeks now, as its viewership dropped with each progressive episode, but Last Resort ‘s cancellation is a bit more surprising. While its ratings were similar to 666 Park Avenue , it was one of the best-reviewed new fall shows, and insiders believed it would be getting a back nine order to round out its season.

The submarine thriller was, however, facing stiff competition in its 8 pm time slot from The Big Bang Theory , which recorded a series high of 17.4 million viewers for Thursday’s episode.

According to EW , ABC is retaining its option to revive either show for next season. If Zero Hour and Red Widow perform worse than Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue in the ratings, and the network’s pilot seasons performs poorly, one or both series could be brought back in 2013.

The news comes just a day after CBS canceled its freshman sitcom, Partners . The series starred Michael Urie and David Krumholtz, and was averaging just 6.5 million viewers. It routinely tied third in its time slot in the adults 18-49 demographic, but was coming in fourth in viewers.

Partners was one of the highest-rated new shows of the season and was performing better than Fox’s Ben and Kate , which has received a back six order to round out its 19-episode season.

Are you surprised that 666 Park Avenue , Last Resort , and Partners have been canceled?
