Amanda Bynes Pleads No Contest To Driving On Suspended License

Amanda Bynes pleaded no contest to a count of driving on a suspended license Thursday morning, and managed to have a second charge of the same offense dropped.

Bynes wasn’t in court for the proceedings, but filed her plea through her attorney, Richard Hutton.

The 27-year-old former Nickelodeon star was placed on three years informal probation. She was also ordered to have a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance when driving in California. Bynes was also ordered to pay a $1,400 fine.

It was the second major court victory for the actress, who had two hit-and-run charges thrown out in December of last year after she agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to the victims.

However, the Attorney’s office wasn’t happy with Bynes getting the charges dropped. At the time, Bynes was already facing a pending DUI case from April 2012. Not only was Bynes drunk at the time, but she also hit the side of a police car before she was arrested.

Bynes still has a criminal charge pending in Beverly Hills that stemmed from the DUI arrest. A source close to the situation told Radar Online, “A deal should be reached on that matter in the next several week.”

While Bynes may be winning in her court cases, she still continues to exhibit strange behavior on a regular basis. There was the NSFW tweet about what she wanted Drake to do to her, the topless photos on Twitter, and her nose job confession, among many other hijinks and shenanigans. And there’s the fact that she’s threatened to see media outlets for publishing unflattering stories about her.

An expert tried to explain Bynes’ bizarre behavior to Perez Hilton, who was one of the recipients of Bynes’ lawsuit threat, saying, “What happens with a lot of these celebrities is that, first of all they are exhausted. Their lives are exhausting. When you are sleep-deprived, you get a little crazy.”

We can’t say definitively that Bynes’ behavior isn’t the result of some long-term sleep deprivation, so we’ll just file this one under “plausible” for now.

Are you surprised that Amanda Bynes was only given probation?
