Angus T. Jones Won’t Be Regular Cast Member Next Season

CBS renewed Two and a Half Men for another season but they have to consider renaming the show. Angus T. Jones is reportedly taking a smaller role next season and will not be considered a series regular.

According toEntertainment Weekly, Jones is currently in talks to have a recurring role on the show. It’s not clear how often Jones will be seen next year.

Jones created a little controversy earlier this year when he called the show “filth.” The 19-year-old actor apologized to the cast and the show continued as normal. But it looks like CBS is starting to fade out their youngest cast member.

Of course, Jones’ rant about the show may not have anything to do with his diminished role next season.

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said in January: “The kid’s 19 years old … I’ve got a 24 year old. Between the ages of 19 and 24 there’s been plenty of things my kid has come out and said that I wish he hadn’t but the bottom line is cooler heads prevailed. [Jones has] been a beloved member of that cast for years and years and he issued a public apology. At the end of the day, they want him back and he wants to come back and that’s it.”

Do you think Jones is trying to phase himself out of the show?

Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer are both signed on for another season (Kutcher is getting about $700,000 an episode) but contract talks are still ongoing with Jones.

Two And A Half Men managed to make a major casting change when it lost Charlie Sheen. Do you think they’ll be able to move on without Jones?
