Janice Dickinson Declares Bankruptcy With Debts To Dermatologist, Anti-Aging Expert
Janice Dickinson has reportedly filed for bankruptcy, claiming she is heavily in debt and coming up with a plan to pay back those she owes.
One of those debts is reportedly an $8,000 sum Dickinson owes to her dermatologist, which The Huffington Post presumes is for one of the many cosmetic procedures she’s undergone. She also owes thousands of dollars to Dr. Uzzi Reiss, an anti-aging specialist.
“I had some trouble, so yes, it is true,” Dickinson said, via Radar Online. “I am upset and taking every step to pay everyone back and I feel terrible about it.”
As Janice Dickinson declared bankruptcy, she also revealed that she has unpaid taxes dating back a decade. In total Dickinson owes more than $500,000 to the states of New York and California and to the IRS.
After dubbing herself the “world’s first supermodel” in the 1970s and 80s, Dickinson has revived her career in recent years thanks to reality television. She appears as a judge on America’s Next Top Model and has made herself a tabloid mainstay with public spats with Anna Wintour, Lady Gaga, and Tyra Banks, among others.
Janice Dickinson may have been able to avoid bankruptcy had she reined in her spending. When she and Dr. Robert Gerner got engaged last year, Dickinson noted that she was aiming for a large and expensive wedding.
“I intend to make Rocky the happiest man in the world for the rest of his life,” Janice Dickinson told Us Weekly. “I couldn’t be happier right now. Oh! And our wedding is going to make Brad and Angelina’s look like a trip to city hall!”
The couple was dating only three months before they got engaged but quickly bought a house together from Gerner’s real estate agent son. They held a housewarming party shortly afterward.
“I had a great time last night and all my friends did too,” Gerner told Us Weekly. “We complete each other—our personalities really compliment each other.”
