An 80-year-old has been charged with the brutal murder of her husband. Annie Oliver, of Kansas City, Missouri, is accused to beating her husband and stabbing him because he took her clothing.
Oliver and her husband Ronald shared their Jackson County home for more than 40 years. Neighbors say that the couple was friendly and their home and yard were always well-kept. They were stunned when they heard the allegations.
As reported by Fox 4 News , Annie Oliver is on a constant supply of oxygen and has been frail in recent years. Despite her medical condition, the 80-year-old has been accused of brutally murdering her husband.
The murder was reported to police by the couple’s granddaughter. Annie contacted her granddaughter and told her that her husband had been “talking smart.” She stated that she was tired of his attitude, so she hit him with a baseball bat, and then cut him with a knife.
As reported by KansasCity.com , When authorities arrived they discovered Ronald laying in a pool of blood. Annie was found in another room changing her clothes.
Police describe a gory scene. Blood spatter coated the walls and floor around the victim. A baseball bat, thought to be the weapon, was leaning against the dresser, covered in blood. Annie was reportedly found with blood and “human tissue” on her body and clothing.
When questioned about her motive, the elderly woman simply replied that she was “tired of the victim’s verbal abuse and him taking her clothing.” She has retained counsel and refused further comment.
Police state that the couple had no prior history of domestic violence. However, they did respond to the home earlier this year for a welfare check.
Annie was arrested and taken to a local hospital for treatment of a minor wound. She is currently being held on $250,000 bond for the brutal murder of her husband.
