After a video of her “twerking” in a uniform outfit went viral, Miley Cyrus decided to break down the video and the response it’s gotten so far.
The 20-year-old singer and actress talked to Ryan Seacrest on his KISS FM radio show Friday and gave her best explanation for the video.
“It’s something that comes naturally,” she said. “It’s a lot of booty action.” Cyrus also said that the video is her only performance that has received universally positive reviews.
“I haven’t really seen one bad comment about my twerk video,” Cyrus said. “This is the first thing! I’m like, ‘I can’t sing, I can’t act, I’m dumb, I’m a hillbilly, but I can twerk, so, whatever.’”
She also added that this isn’t her first time “twerking,” but it was her first time recording it. After a photo shoot, she said, she didn’t feel like getting dressed, so she put on the unicorn onesie and asked a friend to record it.
“I’ve been practicing probably for the past two years, in my own time in my living room,” she said.
While Cyrus was more than happy to talk about her booty-shaking video, she didn’t say anything about her relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth. It was reported that the couple had split after Cyrus was spotted without her ring around Los Angeles, but Cyrus said that the ring was being fixed and that she and Hemsworth were still together. There were also rumors that Hemsworth was cheating after he left the United States for a trip to his native Australia. Cyrus said the trip was planned and that he didn’t have a return date planned.
The couple, who have been dating since 2010 after meeting on the set of The Last Song, have split twice before.
