Ryan Gosling Quitting Acting, Actor Discusses Other Possibilities

Ryan Gosling has shocked the world by declaring his intention to quit acting.

Gosling, who is one of the most sought after actors in the world at the moment, proclaimed that he feels worn out with the process and is currently examining his options before deciding what his next move shall be.

“I’ve been doing it too much,” said the 32-year-old. “I’ve lost perspective on what I’m doing. I think it’s good for me to take a break and reassess why I’m doing it and how I’m doing.”

Gosling even discussed the positives in his decision, remarking, “And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does.”

The Canadian thespian can be seen in the upcoming, The Place Beyond The Pines, as well as Only God Forgives, which is currently in post-production and saw him work alongside Drive’s Nicholas Winding Refn for a second time.

Gosling has also just finished filming an unnamed movie with the maverick filmmaker Terence Malick.

He also talked about his life as star, citing that it has its fair share of pros and cons, noting, “The more opportunities I’m given, the more I learn about how easy it is to f*** it up.”

Gosling added, “You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It’s like trying to exercise some restraint because I have more freedom.”

Revealing a further reason behind his decision, Gosling stated, “There’s a lot of pressure to be the lead of a film. I have done it. It’s not my favorite way to work.”

The hunky actor is currently dating Eva Mendes, who co-stars with him in The Place Beyond The Pines. This comes after he had previous relationships with other actresses including Rachel McAdams, Kat Dennings, Olivia Wilde, and Sandra Bullock.
