Singer Rihanna’s restraining order recently obtained was not against a former or current flame, but a man who allegedly broke into the singer’s home.
TMZ reported on Rihanna’s restraining order , which is temporary, and the unusual circumstances under which it was obtained.
According to the site, Rihanna’s restraining order stems from the break-in of a neighbor’s home this month, not her own house. But the scary part? The alleged stalker believed the residence was Rihanna’s:
“Steveland Barrow was arrested last Thursday after breaking into the home of Rihanna’s neighbor. Cops tell us … Barrow thought the home he entered was Rihanna’s. He told cops he was invited in … he allegedly slept in the bed he thought was Rihanna’s and stole property.”
Even more worryingly, TMZ adds:
“Here’s what’s ominous … According to Rihanna’s lawyer, Barrow has been released from custody and is nowhere to be found.”
OMG!Yahoo has a bit more detail on Rihanna’s restraining order and what preceded it, saying that the man may have been delusional and perceived a relationship with the singer where none existed. The blog explains:
“According to court documents obtained by ‘omg! Insider,’ the singer (real name: Robyn Fenty) filed a restraining order against Steveland Barrow on Tuesday. The 31-year-old California man was arrested on February 22 for breaking into the Los Angeles home of her neighbor, mistakenly believing it was where the star lived. … In addition to removing ‘various items from the home,’ Barrow ‘slept in a bed,’ thinking it belonged to Rihanna. ‘Upon arrest, he claimed he had been invited to Ms. Fenty’s residence’ and ‘had numerous pieces of poetry for her.’ “
After Rihanna’s restraining order was issued, a court date was set for March 21 to solidify the injunction and review possible additional stipulations.
