Robin Sachs Dies: ‘Buffy’ Actor Dead At 61


Robin Sachs has died at age 61, with the Buffy The Vampire Slayer actor’s death coming suddenly.

Sachs actually died on Friday, the BBC News reported, but word of his death was not announced until Tuesday. There were few details available about his death, and there were no public reports of ill health leading up to his death.

Word of his death was announced on his official website:

“This is a post we never thought we would have to write…

“It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robin Sachs.

“Please join us in raising a glass to Robin – goodbye, dear friend. Thank you for all the laughter and the cookies. We will miss you so very much.”

Robin Sachs was born and raised in London, the son of two well-known actors (Leonard Sachs and Eleanor Summerfield). Early in his career, he spent time performing on stage around London, and had numerous appearances on British television throughout his career as well.

Sachs caught his big break on American television with an appearance on Jake and the Fatman, followed by an offer from Aaron Spelling to take over the role of Adam Carrington in Dynasty for the mini-series. From there he went on to work in other television shows.

When Robin Sachs died he was just four days shy of his 62nd birthday. He was best known in his career for playing bad guy Ethan Rayne on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He also had roles on Babylon 5 and Star Trek: Voyager.
