Honey Boo Boo Song: Brad Paisley Sings Ode To Reality TV Star

Brad Paisley’s Honey Boo Boo song made its debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live, giving fans of the reality show a theme song to put to the “redneck” family.

Paisley introduced the Honey Boo Boo song by telling the audience that he had been tapped to write a theme song for a hit cable television series, Today noted. But instead, he played a video for a song he calls “The Ballad of Honey Boo Boo.”

The lyrics hit on many of the fan-favorite aspects of the show, like little Honey Boo Boo’s relationship with Mama June and her love of the syrupy and ultra-caffeinated Go-Go juice.

The Honey Boo Boo song goes:

She’ll sing a song / Whistle a tune / Make ketchup sketti with her mama June / She’s roamin’ the country / She’s on the loose / Filled with balls of cheese and Go-Go juice.

Brad Paisley — whose name if he appeared on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo would be Blueberry Piggy, according to a name generator — was on the show to promote his own new album, Wheelhouse. The country singer should stick to his recorded work, CMT notes:

“So his “Ballad of Honey Boo Boo” has a very old-timey Western feel and pays homage to the sugared-up beauty queen who lives in the hills of Georgia in a modest home.

“There are also lyrics about how Honey Boo Boo is fighting for justice and the American way and how she’s an American hero down to the core. Now, I know Paisley is a very gifted songwriter. But how could he not include the obvious rhymes? Just think of all the things that could rhyme with Boo Boo, smexy, glitz, shack ’em up and paint on the barn.”
