Patton Oswalt Is A Grieving Widower No More, He Just Got Hitched To Meredith Salenger

Joyous news for actor/comedian Patton Oswalt. Just 18 months after his first wife’s unexpected and tragic death, he has started a new chapter as husband to actress Meredith Salenger.

The happy couple was married on Nov. 4 in front of family and friends in a Jewish ceremony by a friend officiating at the Jim Henson Lot in Hollywood, CA as reported to E! News.

Oswalt had been outspoken about his profound grief and efforts to recover for his own good, as well as the sake of his child, eight-year-old daughter Alice.

Oswalt and Salenger went public with their relationship at the premiere of Baby Driver on Wednesday, June 15. They celebrated their new-found romance and connection on social media as originally reported by the Inquisitr last spring.

It was reported by PEOPLE that they had been introduced by mutual friend Martha Plimpton.

“They started chatting as friend and it blossomed from there,” said the insider to PEOPLE.

Salenger made it clear that Oswalts’ first wife was not absent from her thoughts during this happy time.

“Creating our family unit while honoring the brilliant gift Michelle has given me will be my life’s goal and happiness. I am deeply in love with both Patton and Alice and very much looking forward to a beautiful happy life having adventures together.”

Salenger has repeatedly said how lucky she was to find love in a great guy like Oswalt and knows that this is a package deal as she loves her new stepdaughter too.

“But I think for Patton, having met and found love after over a year of intense therapy and openly grieving and dealing with his pain… I am grateful to be the one who helps him climb out of the depths of grief and find some joy again. And most of all… Alice is happy and feels loved. I have waited 47 years to find true love.”

Oswalt has never been silent about his grief following the unexpected passing of his 46-year-old wife who died in her sleep. It was reported that her death was triggered by a previously unnoticed heart condition that caused blockages in her arteries, as well as a lethal combination of prescription drugs including Xanax, Adderall, and the pain medication fentanyl as he wrote in a statement he sent to AP this February. The couple had been married since September 25, 2005.
