’90 Day Fiance’ Season 5 Star Molly Hopkins Has A Shady Past: Details Of Drug Use, DUI Arrests Uncovered!
It’s only been three weeks since 90 Day Fiance Season 5 premiered, and fans are already digging up backstories of the new cast members. Perhaps one of the most talked-about couples this season is Molly and Luis, who met and fell in the Dominican Republic. Aside from cultural differences, the couple has a 15-year-age gap between them. But what makes the two even more controversial is Molly’s shady past.
Molly Hopkins, 41, is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She has two daughters who, like her, are also strong-willed and opinionated. Her eldest, Olivia, is very vocal about her dislike towards Luis, her 26-year-old future stepfather.
In last Sunday’s 90 Day Fiance episode, Luis finally arrived in the United States. Molly lavishly prepared for their first meeting in America. She even asked her makeup artist friend to fix her up! But what caught fans’ attention was why she needed her daughter Olivia to drive her to the airport–doesn’t she know how to drive?
As it turns out, Molly didn’t have a driver’s license at the time of filming because it was suspended after several drinking-and-driving incidents. Starcasm uncovered at least three mug shots of the 90 Day Fiance star, taken from 2008 to 2012.
In 2008, Molly was reportedly arrested for possession of marijuana, which is not legal in her state. However, the case was only a misdemeanor because the pot found in her possession was less than one ounce.
Molly’s other two mug shots were both taken in 2012, for DUI arrests and other driving violations. There’s also a record dated June 17, 2016, which shows Molly pleading guilty to another DUI. Apparently, she was pulled over for speeding and she failed the breathalyzer test. It was indicated that Molly had a.139 blood alcohol level when the limit in Georgia is only.08.
The reality star was sentenced to 72 hours in jail with two years of probation and 240 hours of community service. Additionally, she was ordered to pay a total of $1,511 in fines and attend anger management courses.
This year, Molly allegedly surrendered her vehicle tags because of her multiple DUI charges within five years. This explains why she couldn’t drive on the way to the airport to pick up Luis, as seen in the 90 Day Fiance episode.
It is interesting to note that Molly Hopkins isn’t new to public drama. In fact, 90 Day Fiance isn’t the first show she’s been on. She has previously starred in the short-lived reality show Double Divas, which aired on Lifetime in 2013. The show featured Molly and her business partner, Cynthia Decker, as they run their specialty lingerie store called LiviRae Lingerie.
