Possible Reason Why Kane Easily Defeated Finn Balor On ‘Monday Night Raw’ Revealed

Finn Balor suffered a shock loss on Monday Night Raw, and many of his fans are not happy. Balor, who was coming off a big win on Sunday at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs against A.J. Styles, was easily defeated by Kane in about seven minutes in what looked like a squash match. What could be the reasoning behind that booking decision?

As recapped by WWE.com, Balor came out as “The Demon” at TLC to face off against Styles. The first-ever Universal champion was scheduled to face the “Sister Abigail” version of Bray Wyatt, but it was scrapped at the last minute because of a viral illness that affected Wyatt, Bo Dallas, and Roman Reigns.

“The Demon” continued to gain a lot of momentum when he defeated Styles on Sunday in one of the best matches in the WWE this year. Balor used the Coup De Grace to beat Styles, who is a former WWE champion and one of the best wrestlers in the world today. The win was Balor’s third-straight pay-per-view victory.

However, the momentum was quickly halted the next day on Monday Night Raw by Kane. Finn Balor came out without his “Demon” face paint and challenged Kane to a match. “The Big Red Machine” obliged and proceeded to give Balor a beat down. Kane hit the Chokeslam three straight times to put Balor away.

After the match, many fans were very upset, and some experts were confused why Finn Balor was used to put over Kane just for the sake of making him look strong for his feud with Braun Strowman. For those who do not know, Strowman turned face after Kane attacked him at TLC. They are expected to face off at Survivor Series, with Strowman winning. Kane is slated to take some time off if he wins the mayoral seat for Knox County, Tennessee, next month.

According to Donald Wood of Bleacher Report, the WWE needed to solidify Kane’s status as a terrifying monster before he battles Braun Strowman. Wood pointed out that the WWE has done a great job in booking Kane since he destroyed Roman Reigns last week, Strowman on Sunday, defeating Finn Balor on Monday, and decimating Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on the same night.

Wood also noted that Finn Balor was not buried and won’t be affected by the loss. Balor will still get cheered, and he would surely be booked strong again next week. There are speculations that the WWE is grooming Balor to be the opponent for Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble next year.

Nevertheless, these are still just speculations at the moment, but it was pretty obvious why Kane was booked strong. The only problem is who he defeated since the WWE could have used a different superstar to put over Kane. Possible good news for Balor and his fans is that he was not in his “Demon” character against Kane and is still undefeated when he uses it.
