‘All Superheroes Must Die’ Trailer Combines Comic Books With Torture Horror [Video]

A new trailer for the upcoming action-horror hybrid All Superheroes Must Die has found its way onto the internet, according to Dread Central.

The website got an exclusive first look courtesy of of the folks at Image Entertainment. The film is a little on the violent side, so be sure to use your best judgment if you’re watching this thing at work.

The premise for the film is an interesting combination of The Avengers and Saw. A group of superheroes find themselves trapped in a room without their powers. In order to save the world from a terrorist plot, the crime fighters must kill one another before time runs out.

The official plot synopsis reads as follows:

“The film follows four masked avengers — Charge, Cutthroat, The Wall, and Shadow — who find themselves stripped of their powers by their arch-nemesis, whom they defeated years earlier … or so they thought. When the sinister mastermind puts the heroes through a series of brutal challenges that are virtually impossible to overcome, they must battle the clock — and even each other — in a race to stop a deadly countdown that could mean total destruction. Will the superheroes prevail, or will they be forced to meet their demise as mere human beings?”

According to Internet Movie Database, the film was once known as simply Vs. Seeing as how that’s a hard name to market, the Jason Trost-directed outing became known as All Superheroes Must Die.

Although the movie sports a number of recognizable players — including Dexter alum James Remar and X-Men: First Class’ Lucas Till — this particular feature will be bypassing theaters and heading straight to home video. Amazon currently lists the released date as January 29, 2013.

The trailer for the superhero horror flick, which co-stars Lee Valmassy and Sophie Merkley, has been embedded below.
