The first comments being made about First Lady Melania Trump, as she stepped off of Air Force Once with President Donald Trump at Orly Airport in Paris, France, are noting how much Melania’s style brings back memories of former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Melania and President Trump arrived in Paris on July 13, preparing for their 36-hour stay in the city. Melania and President Trump plan to attend Bastille Day celebrations, but all eyes were on Melania’s red suit. According to Rosemary Feitelberg of WWD , Melania’s stylist, Hervé Pierre, helped Melania pick out the modernized version of the red Christian Dior Bar suit.
The red Dior Bar suit is being called much more than simply a red suit jacket with a red skirt, but a designer red suit that received plenty of pre-planning to choose. Melania and Pierre decided on the red suit in order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dior, whose name is part of the French lexicon. Express called Melania’s red suit a smart one, and noted just how much Melania channeled “Jackie O” when Melania donned black sunglasses to go along with her smart red Dior Suit, paying homage to the retrospective named “Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve” at Les Arts Décoratifs. The wool red suit came complete with six matching red buttons in the front, and a cinched waistline that once more highlighted Melania’s trim frame, as have Melania’s clothing choices in the past. There should be additional opportunities to spot Melania’s style choices after Melania spends the day in Paris with First Lady Brigitte Macron, then attends dinner with President Trump and President Macron at Le Jules Verne restaurant, which is located inside the Eiffel Tower. After a day spent exploring Paris, likely in the red suit, Melania will no doubt change into more formal or even dressier evening wear to for the dinner.
