Gwen Stefani Isn’t Worried About Blake Shelton Seeing His Ex Wife, Miranda Lambert, At The CMT Music Awards

Gwen Stefani is unconcerned about her boyfriend Blake Shelton’s potential run-in with his former wife, Miranda Lambert, during tonight’s CMT Music Awards.

While the country singers are both expected to attend tonight’s show in Nashville, Tennessee, Gwen Stefani, who may or may not be walking the red carpet with her Voice co-star, isn’t worried about a possible interaction between the ex-spouses.

“Gwen [Stefani] couldn’t care less if Blake [Shelton] runs into Miranda [Lambert] at the CMT Awards or anywhere else,” a source told Hollywood Life on June 6. “She’s never been so completely secure in a relationship before. Blake makes her feel like like a queen, so he could literally be surrounded by gorgeous women and she wouldn’t mind.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have only been dating for about a year and a half but already, the couple has become quite serious about their relationship and in recent months, they’ve been spending tons of time as a family with Stefani’s three kids, 10-year-old Kingston, eight-year-old Zuma, and two-year-old Apollo. They’ve also appeared at events together, including the 2017 People’s Choice Awards earlier this year and the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Los Angeles in early 2016.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton went public with their relationship in November 2015 after splitting from their exes, Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, months prior.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton first began working together during the seventh season of The Voice but because they were both married at the time, their relationship was strictly professional. Then, two seasons later, as they dealt with their highly publicized splits, they bonded on a more personal level.

As Shelton revealed during an interview with Billboard magazine in 2016, he opened up about his split from Lambert to his co-stars at the start of The Voice Season 9 and right away, the moment led Stefani to tear up. While Shelton didn’t quite understand where her emotion was coming from at the time, he later learned that she was dealing with a very similar situation.

A short time later, Gwen Stefani reached out in hopes of chatting with Blake Shelton about what he was going through with Miranda Lambert.

“I thought it was going to be another one of those things-are-going-to-be-OK talks,” he recalled. “She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it.’ That’s kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day. It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email — ‘This s**t happened to me, what happened to you?’ — to maybe three times a week, then every day, to ‘Hey, here’s my phone number if you ever want to text.'”

“Next thing I know, I wake up and she’s all I care about, and I’m wondering if she feels the same about me,” he added.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been quite open with their romance since it began and often pose for photos together on social media. They’ve also made no hesitation to share their flirty moments with viewers of The Voice and did so frequently during the recently aired 12th season of the NBC singing competition.

Although there is a possibility that Gwen Stefani will be walking the red carpet with Blake Shelton tonight in Nashville, she has yet to confirm that she is in town and as of Sunday, she was still in Los Angeles with her sons.
