Did Amber Portwood Finally Dump Matt Baier For Good? ‘Teen Mom OG’ Teases ‘New Beginnings’
Following a week filled with relationship drama, Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood is talking about new beginnings. Did Portwood dump her fiancé Matt Baier and end their relationship for good?
Radar Online reports that Portwood took to social media and hinted that her engagement is permanently over. Despite previously standing in support of Baier’s controversial past, Portwood made it sound like she’s looking ahead to a new and brighter future.
“Ready to move forward and be the woman I’ve always strived to be with no one holding me back!” she wrote. “New beginning starts now.”
An inside source also revealed that Baier isn’t planning on filming the reunion of Teen Mom OG, which is scheduled to begin in New York over the weekend. There’s still a chance that Baier could change his mind, but it doesn’t sound like he wants to be in front of the cameras when Portwood reveals their split.
“He could always change his mind, but as of now, he’s not expected to attend,” the insider stated.
The source added that Portwood had a difficult time cutting ties with Baier. Over the past few months, the two broke up repeatedly only to get back together once the dust settled. The final straw broke when Baier failed a lie detector test about his cheating past. As fans are well aware, multiple women came forward and accused Baier of being the father of their children.
Baier met Amber Portwood on the internet three years ago. He moved from Massachusetts to Indiana within months of the start of their romance and quickly proposed. They were supposed to get hitched this coming fall, but Portwood pumped the breaks on the wedding earlier this year.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Baier recently admitted that he was struggling with substance abuse during some of his most infamous Teen Mom rants. His confession was about as honest as it gets with Baier, but it still didn’t make up for how he treated Portwood. Although it sounds like Portwood is ready to start fresh, she still hasn’t confirmed the breakup rumors. In fact, an insider claims that Baier is still living under her roof and she doesn’t have the heart to kick him out.
“They broke up again, but Amber has a hard time saying no to him,” the insider stated. “She knows he has nowhere to go if she kicks him out.”
That said, Baier recently told People that his relationship with Portwood is going strong — and the wedding is still in play. Baier says he and Portwood are just keeping the wedding details a big secret and aren’t willing to discuss them in public.
“The wedding hasn’t been called off,” he told the outlet. “Amber and I decided to keep the details of our wedding very, very personal and private right now.”
Baier continued: “Ever since we announced our wedding date, the amount of stress and opinions that came along with that just became too much. There were people out there just ruining the day for us before it even happened. We decided to formulate and stick to our plan but we don’t know if we want to share this with everyone.”
Baier did not comment about his controversial cheating past or his refusal to participate in the reunion. Portwood has not confirmed or denied the breakup rumors, but it looks like their relationship is in serious trouble. Unfortunately, fans might have to wait until the reunion to ultimately discover the truth.
In the meantime, Portwood and Baier continue their drama when new episodes of Teen Mom OG air Monday nights on MTV.
