The Shield Reunites? As Roman Reigns Goes To Battle, Dean Ambrose Drops Hints On Chris Jericho’s Podcast

When Dean Ambrose got traded from SmackDown Live to Monday Night Raw, fans all over the world began to wonder if this was a sign of things to come with The Shield. After all, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are both superstars on the Monday Night Raw roster, but as long as Dean Ambrose was on the so-called “Blue Brand,” there was no way that The Shield would reunite. Now, however, with Ambrose on the “Red Brand,” it looks like The Shield will reunite after all.

That’s the word, at least, according to India Today, who suggest that the so-called “feud of the summer” between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins is just the start of a storyline that will culminate with a Shield reunion.

“For those uninitiated, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have hardly been friends. ‘The Kingslayer’ (Seth Rollins) was the main reason behind dismantling of ‘The Shield’ back in 2014. In last Monday night’s main event, the team of Reigns and Seth Rollins lost to Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe due to a miscommunication. The Shield, probably the one the best heel factions to have come out of the WWE in recent memory, might be on its way back for a reunion or a classic feud involving the third member, Dean Ambrose, who is the reigning Intercontinental Champion.”

And this theory is one that’s further pushed by none other than Dean Ambrose. According to Pop Culture, Ambrose joined Jeff Hardy on a broadcast of Chris Jericho’s podcast, and they talked about nearly everything under the sun, including the possibility of Ambrose reuniting with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

In between talking about the time that he saw a UFO (huh?!) and believes that he’s been abducted by aliens (how?!), Ambrose said that he was shocked that he was transferred to Monday Night Raw. He thought that he would permanently be a SmackDown Live guy. However, now that he’s on Raw with his other erstwhile Shield teammates, he wouldn’t be averse to a reunion. What’s more, he — like Hardy and Jericho — believe that Cesaro, while criminally under-used as a superstar, is the best wrestler in the WWE today.

If a Shield reunion does happen, it can only mean good things, not only for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, but for Seth Rollins as well, according to Cageside Seats. The outlet maintains that, despite Rollins’ otherwise awesome career, the WWE nearly “ruined” him. In asking “how could anyone with a brain screw this up?,” the outlet maintains that Rollins would have had an amazing career if the WWE had taken a different approach to his career.

“Thanks to some of the shoddiest, most ridiculously stupid booking this century from WWE, Seth Rollins has gone from an entertaining performer into a dude that has good matches that no one believes in. WWE had an opportunity to recreate Triple H at Madison Square Garden with Seth Rollins, but instead of doing that, they elected to completely botch every inch of an already-wrapped gift. They didn’t just pull the bow off, they actually urinated on it and fed it to the masses. How the hell does a smart company get this so insanely wrong? Further, how did they jack this up not once, but twice?”
