‘The Walking Dead’ Argument Results In Shooting

Long Island, NY – A man allegedly shot his girlfriend after an argument about The Walking Dead spiraled out of control, according to Worst Previews.

Authorities explained Jared Gurman was not exactly pleased that his girlfriend thought his theories regarding the hit TV series was “ridiculous.” Apparently the girl didn’t think that a zombie-like virus could realistically be released by the US government.

Upset that his girlfriend didn’t see The Walking Dead from his point of view, he continued arguing his point despite the fact that she clearly wasn’t into it. Jessica Gelderman decided to leave her boyfriend to his own device once the argument got too intense.

Although Gelderman left the premises, Gurman continued press the point via text messages and on phone. Unfortunately, things took a serious turn for the worse when Jessica returned home. She opened the door to find her boyfriend holding a rifle.

According to Newsday, Gurman’s attorney says the rifle accidentally went off while in his client’s hands. However, the boyfriend has pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempted murder.

“Jess walked into the room and I fired the gun once and hit her,” Gurman explained. “She said, ‘Oh my God. What did you do?’ ”

The bullet from the .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle reportedly pierced his girlfriend’s lung and shattered a few of her ribs. Although she was listed in stable condition, authorities said the bullet was still lodged inside Gelderman’s body.

Nassau Detective Lieutenant Raymond Cote explained that Gurman’s Walking Dead theory played a part in the shooting.

“I just know that he felt very adamant that there could be some type of military mishap that would result in some sort of virus or something being released that could cause terrible things to happen,” he said.
