Was Phaedra Parks Fired From ‘RHOA’ Over Something Else?
Phaedra Parks has been fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta after spreading vicious rumors about her co-stars. However, a new report suggests that there may have been a lot more to her firing than just some poor judgment. According to Radar Online, it was Parks’ boring storyline that actually got her canned. The nasty rumors and all-out reunion finale insanity were just icing on the cake, so to speak.
“Phaedra was not renewed because she wasn’t willing to share her true personal life. Producers have been begging her to date and open up about what truly went on in her marriage to Apollo [Nida] and react to Apollo’s girlfriend. Phaedra’s storyline just doesn’t warrant her $1.3 million paycheck,” a source told the outlet.
Parks hasn’t said too much about getting fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta save for some quotes that she has posted on Instagram. Believe it or not, some fans are already wondering if Parks will be able to talk her way back in. A source told Radar Online that Parks has been talking with producer Andy Cohen “constantly.”
“Since the reunion taping, Phaedra has remained in constant contact with Andy Cohen. She feels that she wasn’t given the proper edit,” another source told Radar Online. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who watched the reunion finale. Parks isn’t leaving on a high note, that’s for sure.
And while it may seem like her time on RHOA is completely over, there is still a chance that she’ll be back for more, even if it’s not as a full-time Housewife.
“The network has reassured Phaedra that she is always welcome to appear in future installments as a guest,” an insider said.
It’s unknown if that’s something that Parks would want or even consider.
Since the explosive reunion, Andy Cohen has spoken out about how things went down and the aftermath. According to E! News, the show simply can’t function if the women aren’t speaking to Parks.
“The question that we look at now with Phaedra is, when the reunion ended, none of the other women wanted to have anything to do with her. So that’s what you have to look at. How do you shoot a show about a group of friends when no one is speaking to one of the friends?” Cohen told E! at the NBCUniversal Upfronts blue carpet at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last week.
It’s important to note here that Bravo has not made an official announcement about Parks being fired.
Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel has also shared some insight on the matter. Parks has reportedly been trying to pin the blame on the show’s producers, something that Frankel says “would never happen.”
“I’ve been doing this for 10 years. I actually, sadly, consider myself to be a veteran. The producers do not make you do these things at all. The producers don’t know exactly what’s going on, so they might say, ‘Are you going to talk to Kandi about this?’ They don’t know. They would never do that. It would be a massive problem. This isn’t The Hills, it’s real. It really is. So yeah, no, that would never happen,” she said.
Do you think that Phaedra Parks deserved to be fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Do you think that the drama she caused on the last season is the primary reason that she isn’t being invited back? Or do you think that her storyline just wasn’t cutting it, as the insiders told Radar Online? Sound off in the comments section below.
