‘Splatoon 2’ Switch Bundle: Nintendo Releases New Neon Pink And Green Joy Switch Controllers

In honour of Splatoon 2, Nintendo is releasing a Splatoon 2 Switch Bundle. Nintendo announced this week that they will be offering these Switch bundles with Splatoon 2 in addition to Splatoon 2-themed accessories when the product launches in region-specific locations. Thus far, it seems as if the Splatoon 2 Switch bundles will only be available in Europe and Japan when Splatoon 2 launches on July 21, 2017. The Splatoon 2 Switch bundles will also differ according to the region you buy it in. The Splatoon 2-themed accessories include brightly colored neon pink and green Joy-Con controllers, a Pro Controller, a Switch carry case with squid graphics, and three packets of Splatoon 2 stickers.

According to Forbes, Nintendo reported that the Nintendo Switch was the top seller for April 2017.

” … according to the NPD Group the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling video game system in April in the United States. The Nintendo Switch sold more than 280,000 units in April, following an outstanding March that found the Nintendo Switch also leading game hardware sales.”

The neon pink and green Joy-Cons for the Splatoon 2 Switch bundles are fun and provide a watermelon-like effect which is almost too good to eat, um play on.

Japan’s Splatoon 2 Switch Bundle Options

Nintendo’s home country of Japan will probably have the most to look forward to when it comes to the hotly anticipated Splatoon 2 Switch bundles. The hardware options available for the Japanese market will include hot pink and green Joy-Con controllers and a sheet of stickers.

The Japanese will also see the new Switch Pro Controller, three new Splatoon amiibos, and the Switch carrying case. The Splatoon 2 carrying case is also an upgrade in that it has additional room for the dock and other accessories, besides the compartment for the Switch. The Joy-Con’s colorful exterior will have matching Joy-con straps.

Furthermore, Nintendo announced that Japanese customers will also be able to buy the Splatoon 2 Switch bundle’s exterior packaging, or if they wish to purchase just the Splatoon 2 box with no download code or game card, they may also do so.

The UK And Europe’s Splatoon 2 Switch Bundle Options

The UK will also have access to the new Switch Pro Controller, the improved Switch Carrying Case, and three new Splatoon amiibos.

For those in the United States who are looking to purchase a bright and cheer Joy-Con controller, there are also options available. Nintendo will be releasing a bright yellow controller with the release of ARMS.

Is Switch The Console Of the Future?

With the news that Nintendo Switch beat out competitors for the second month this year, it is little wonder that Nintendo is promoting their consoles in fun and funky colors hoping to expand their market. The Splatoon 2 Switch bundle is only the latest in their play to gain market share. According to Games Industry, the NPD group reported that Nintendo sold more than 280,000 Switch units in the US alone, 68,000 3DS handheld gaming units, while more than half a million Mario Kart 8 Deluxe units were sold.

With impressive stats like this, they are hoping to repeat the success with the release of Splatoon 2.

According to Game Industry, Nintendo has “often been the first company to take a rough idea and turn it into something so accessible, so useful and so necessarily that, in hindsight, it ends up feeling obvious.”

“The console is off to a roaring start, with its second month sales (and ongoing stock shortages) demonstrating very high demand. While next month’s big title, ARMS, is an unknown quantity – it could be an amazing driver of console sales or a damp squib – July’s Splatoon 2, a sequel to the company’s biggest new IP in years, is absolutely certain to drive demand for Switch further into the stratosphere.”
