WWE News: Braun Strowman Updates Fans On Elbow Injury, Pre-‘SummerSlam’ 2017 Return Imminent?
Following a serious, legitimate elbow injury, speculations were high that WWE’s Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, would be out of action for around six months. The popular heel’s injury was quite severe and needed surgery, as confirmed by the WWE itself. While the WWE fanbase is expecting that Strowman would be out of action for up to six months, however, reports have recently emerged stating that the Superstar would most likely make his in-ring comeback much sooner, possibly at SummerSlam 2017 in August.
The six-month timetable for Strowman’s recovery was given by WWE itself, with a statement on Monday indicating that the Monster Among Men would not be able to compete for up to six months. The sports entertainment firm further added that Strowman’s injury, which was validated by a segment on the May 8 episode of RAW, was quite severe, as doctors found that Strowman’s elbow had been completely shattered, according to a Wrestling Inc. report.
“Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman’s elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result.”

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, however, has predicted that the Monster Among Men would be coming back to action on SummerSlam, where the popular heel is expected to face Brock Lesnar during the main event in a massive Beast vs. Monster battle. With this in mind, Meltzer expects that Strowman would actually start participating in some in-ring action by mid-July, in order to build the tension leading up to the August pay-per-view match, according to Bleacher Report.
Meltzer also stated that prior to his major injury, Strowman was likely scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Great Balls of Fire PPV on July. With Strowman out of action, however, Meltzer stated that The Beast would probably end up facing Seth Rollins or Finn Balor for the title instead. This would most likely end with Lesnar keeping the Universal Championship, before defending his title against Braun Strowman on SummerSlam 2017.
Since incurring his serious elbow injury, Strowman has updated his fans on his progress through his personal Instagram account. While Strowman’s official WWE Twitter page has been quite silent with regard to his progress, the Monster Among Men has posted updates on his recovery through his personal Instagram profile. In a recent message to his fans, Strowman, speaking entirely out of character, described his condition in an inspiring post.

“Sometimes life throws you unexpected obstacles. Things will get in the way of your dreams; they always do. How you handle your setbacks is what makes the difference. I could sit around and think what could I have done to avoid this what did I do to deserve this. Y? Y? Y? I say to hell with that.
“There’s no time for excuses and pity party’s (sic)!!!! Every day is a day I get the opportunity to grow stronger; every day I push myself further cause I refuse to let this slow me down. Nothing can stop me from being the best. I’ll blow through this like I have every set back life has ever throw (sic) at me and continue to own my destiny!!!! This is my life, and I tell what and when I’m gonna do things.”
Strowman’s personal Instagram page has been flooded with messages of support from WWE fans and his avid supporters, with many wishing a speedy recovery for the popular heel. The Instagram message had only been uploaded 12 hours ago, but it has already garnered more than 10,000 likes and hundreds of supportive responses from the social media platform’s users. Based on fans’ reactions to Strowman’s injury and personal post, it appears that Strowman’s eventual return would most likely be triumphant.
