Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Secretly Engaged? Inside Their Plans To Wed At Westminster Abbey

Wedding bells might be sounding for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The two are reportedly engaged and have plans to tie the knot at Westminster Abbey. Here’s a look inside their plans to exchange vows at the historic wedding destination.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the Queen has given Harry the okay to marry the Suits star. The two have their eyes set on exchanging vows at the historic Westminster Abbey, which is the same location Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in 2011. While the church usually doesn’t marry divorcees, a spokesperson for Westminster Abbey revealed that they adhere to the General Synod Ruling of 2002, which allows for such marriages.

That said, it doesn’t sound like Harry’s romance with Markle is without controversy. Sources claim that both Middleton and Camilla Parker-Bowles are having a hard time dealing with the notion that Markle will be a part of the family. For starters, Markle is not British and has been given the royal treatment at Kensington Palace. Markle is also a Hollywood star, and there’s a good chance she will overshadow everyone else in the royal family.

To make the situation more complicated, Markle has been married in the past. Camilla found herself in a similar situation when she married Prince Charles and still has a hard time getting people to accept her mistakes. Markle, on the other hand, has had the opposite experience, as nobody seems to mind that she’s been divorced.

In fact, Elle reports that Meghan Markle’s past won’t hinder the couple from walking down the aisle at Westminster Abbey. Church officials have officially confirmed that Markle is welcome to wed at their facility. Even though Markle is Jewish, the church is willing to perform an interfaith ceremony if it is required.

The news that Harry is willing to marry a divorcee is a welcome change for fans of the royal family. Back in 1955, Princess Margaret called off her romance with Captain Peter Townsend because he had been married.

“Mindful of the Church’s teaching that Christian marriage is indissoluble and conscious of my duty to the Commonwealth, I have resolved to put these considerations before any others,” she shared in an official statement.

Of course, the biggest mystery remaining is when Harry will pop the big question. According to Radar Online, Harry and Markle have been teasing fans about an engagement for the past few weeks. The two have made a point to keep their romance a big secret, but it now looks like they are in a hurry to make everything official.

In fact, Harry and Markle are scheduled to depart to Africa after she is done filming for the new season of Suits. Although Harry hasn’t said anything official, insiders claim that he will ask Markle to marry him in Africa.

Harry has a lot of ties to Africa. He created a charity called Sentebale in Africa last year, and their destination is repeatedly the same place that Prince William popped the big question to Kate Middleton. Even more, members of the palace bodyguards are expected to travel with the couple, which might hint something big is being planned.

As far as Markle is concerned, she has been taking the appropriate steps for marrying into the Royal Family. This includes going silent on social media and taking a break from her personal blog. Markle hasn’t said anything about the upcoming wedding, but this could be a clear sign that she is cutting her ties with Hollywood.

The royal family has not commented on the rumors surrounding Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle.
