Ex-Boyfriend Sues Shakira For $100 Million

Antonio de la Rúa, Shakira’s ex-boyfriend, is reportedly suing the singer for $100 million.

But this isn’t just some lover’s squabble. De la Rúa is Shakira’s former manager and claims that the singer stopped paying him his share of the profits after they broke up in 2010.

The Digital Spy reports that de la Rúa played a major part in turning Shakira into a star. After a 2004 tour failed to turn a profit Shakira asked de la Rúa to handle “the business behind the Shakira brand.” De la Rúa helped land Shakira a $300 million deal with Live Nation and claims that his management brought in “tens of millions of dollars” for Shakira.

The lawsuit claims that De la Rúa and Shakira had a business contact through October 2011 but the singer stopped paying after they broke up.

The New York Post reports that de la Rúa and Shakira started dating in 2000 and broke up in 2010. The lawsuit claims that de la Rúa hasn’t been paid a cent since their breakup.

Shakira may still be dealing with the business side of her last relationship but she is already moved on in her love life. The She Wolf singer is currently pregnant with her first child with footballer Gerard Piqué.
