Ice T Flawlessly Trolled The Internet And It Was Fabulous

Don’t take everything seriously that Ice T says on social media. The actor likes to have a little fun with his fans at times.

Reports have surfaced that Trump’s team is scrambling to find performers for the Jan. 20 inauguration and all-day festivities. His team is so desperate that they are willing to “pay anything” to any willing pop star, and even offered people ambassadorships, according to Mercury News. News then surfaced that rapper Ice T was supposedly contacted by phone to perform, in which he turned them down.

The Law and Order: SVU star took to Twitter with his one of many hilarious tweets on Thursday, Dec. 15.

“just got a call to perform at the Inauguration [sic],” he wrote. “didn’t pick up and Blocked the number.”

He then followed up with the tweet, “Just call Ted Nugent and call it day….”

Both fans and the media took the tweet seriously. Some called him a “liar,” to which Ice T responded, “lol….Ya think?’

He allowed the joke to continue for hours. Then once reports surfaced about his turning down Trump’s team, he announced that he was only joking.

“Jokes people… I got Jokes!” he added.

He was having his fun at the expense of everyone, including Trump’s supporters who believed his tweets. He then added that it was easy to anger “these political trolls up…LOL.” And then he trolled his followers once more.

“Trump wouldn’t accept my refusal to play the Inauguration so he’s coming over my house to talk about it,” Ice T tweeted again. “I won’t be home.”

Meanwhile, Barack Obama had no trouble enlisting A-list talent such as Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, and James Taylor to perform at his Inauguration. Hillary Clinton had many celebrities on her campaign trail, including Katy Perry, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, and Demi Lovato.

Trump is reportedly having a hard time getting A-list celebrities on his side. His team reportedly asked opera singer Andrea Bocelli to sing a duet with America’s Got Talent alum Jackie Evancho, according to the Huffington Post. They were also turned down by the legendary Elton John, who’s rep issued a stern statement denying he agreed to perform, according to a report by The Wrap.

Idina Menzel, Garth Brooks, and the Chainsmokers have also declared that they are not performing. Menzel explained why Trump’s team is not having luck securing performers or star-studded celebs at his inauguration.

“I think it’s karma, baby,” she said. “I mean, look: All the artists in the world got up and tried to get our girl [Hillary Clinton] elected, and it still didn’t happen, so we’re all trying to recover from that.”

Insiders also told The Wrap that Trump’s team is having a hard time securing celebrities for his big day. When the outlet asked Trump’s inaugural committee to comment or confirm the reports, the director declared that they did not have difficulties securing talent.

“First class entertainers are eager to participate in the inaugural events. The inauguration as a whole will be an exciting and uniting celebration of freedom and democracy. We will be releasing further details at the appropriate time.”

Looks like Kanye West and Kid Rock would make the perfect performers. Kid Rock has been outspoken about his support for Trump on social media. Kanye West has recently met with Trump to discuss his potential role in his administration. However, the rapper and fashion designer didn’t address questions about whether Trump had asked him to perform.

In addition, there have also been reports that no Washington D.C.-area high school marching bands have signed up to participate in the Inauguration day festivities. They are breaking the tradition by choosing not to get involved with Trump’s presidency.

While it’s clear that Ice T won’t be performing, he did a great job at getting everyone to take him seriously.
