‘The Vampire Diaries’ And ‘Supernatural’ Dream Crossover: Fans Want To See The Winchesters To Stop The Salvatores

There are many dream crossovers out there and The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural fans have their own. With this being the very last season of The Vampire Diaries fans from both fandoms have gotten together with their wish for a crossover.

While fans know that there is no chance of a crossover happening—The Vampire Diaries films in Georgia, Atlanta, while Supernatural is filmed in Vancouver, Canada—that hasn’t stopped many from setting up their dream storylines. In fact, even the casts of both shows have shared their thoughts of crossovers and how they could play out. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki, who play the Winchester brothers on Supernatural, have shared at conventions how they could roll up in the Impala and put an end to all the vampires around.

Sure enough, Hidden Remote shared the idea for a crossover between the two shows in a recent post. While the idea was set more towards the earlier seasons, that doesn’t negate the ideas for this current end.

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts. In some of the closed groups, Supernatural fans have said that they want to see the Winchesters put a stop to the Salvatore brothers.

In The Vampire Diaries Season 8 midseason finale, Stefan made a deal with Cade and turned off his humanity. While Stefan said it would only happen for a year, fans wonder whether the Salvatores will turn their humanities back on. This is the first time that both Salvatores have had their humanities off at the exact same time, making fans more worried than usual.

This is a darker storyline than previous years and is the first time that the storyline has mostly focused on something other than vampires, werewolves, and witches. As the Inquisitr previously reported, there was the idea of a darker supernatural creature back in The Vampire Diaries Season 1, but the writers decided to change the storyline. She is glad they did, because they’ve been able to save the darkest storyline for last.

Supernatural fans are no strangers to dark storylines, supernatural creatures, and hell. In fact, hell is often mentioned and seen in Supernatural, with Crowley trying to make his way back to being the King of Hell.

A crossover between the two shows couldn’t quite work, but that hasn’t stopped fans from dreaming up the storyline. According to Ackles and Padalecki, the Winchesters would definitely win the battle. With recent years, they’ve proven they can go up against Lucifer and God’s sister, Amara, so why wouldn’t they be able to stop Cade and two humanity-less vampires?

Last year, there were rumors that a crossover between The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural was in the works. The actors who play the Winchesters and the Salvatores met up at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con, according to Wet Paint. They took photos together and then Padalecki shared on Twitter that he could “smell a spin-off?? Or a crossover…”

Wesley replied to Padalecki saying that he needed “job security.” This quickly led to fans sharing their ideas and even sharing fan-made videos of the two coming across each other in Mystic Falls. Of course, there are also plenty of fan fiction sites with crossover stories between the two universes.

With this being the last season of The Vampire Diaries, fans want it more than ever. There are still uncertainties over Nina Dobrev returning as Elena, so why not have the Winchesters roll in and stop the Salvatore brothers permanently? Both Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have both said that they would like the Salvatores to die at the very end, so why not at the hands of the Winchester brothers?

If this can’t happen, will the Salvatores be around to step in for Supernatural‘s final ever episode (whenever that may be) and kill the Winchesters off for good?

Both The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural are currently on their winter breaks but will return to the CW in January 2017.
