Washington Huskies Vs. Alabama Crimson Tide: Bold Predictions For Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Bowl season is among us.

As a result, fans will get to witness some of the most exciting matchups of the season. You know, matchups that typically wouldn’t happen outside of bowl season. Two matchups that everyone will have their eyes on are the Washington Huskies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Clemson Tigers. One might be wondering why. Simple. Those four teams make up the College Football Playoff field, and the winner of those battles will end up playing in the national championship game.

Let’s focus in on Washington vs. Alabama, or better yet, the 2016 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

How did the Crimson Tide get here? Well, they started the season off as the No. 1-ranked team in college football and they are still the No. 1-ranked team in college football. Not only are they the defending national champs, but they are also the only undefeated team in the playoff. Side note: The only other undefeated team in the sport is the Western Michigan Broncos.

Alabama is hands down the best team in the country. This team not only has the perfect record to prove it, but it has also taken down eight ranked teams in the 2016 college football season (at the time). That’s madness.

Giving the ball to the Huskies, their lone loss came against the USC Trojans. For all it’s worth, Alabama beat USC by the score of 52-6 in the first game of the season. Of course, USC appears to be a much different team now. Washington has taken down four ranked teams (at the time) this season. Their biggest win came against the Colorado Buffaloes in the Pac-12 title game. Blowout was the name of the game as Washington took down Colorado by the score of 41-10.

Now, the Huskies will play their toughest opponent of the season. To say the least, they are major underdogs.

Before the College Football Playoff graces us with its presence, make sure to check out some bold predictions for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Spoiler alert: If you are a Washington fan, then these predictions likely won’t be your cup of tea.

Jake Browning Is Good For Zero Touchdowns, Two Interceptions

Jake Browning has put up some monster stats on the year. For example, he has 42 passing touchdowns in 2016, which is the second-best mark in the country.

With that said, Alabama has the best defense in college football. The Crimson Tide’s defense is averaging 11.8 points per game, which is the best mark in the sport.

Alabama’s defense might not be unstoppable (the Crimson Tide gave up 43 points against the Ole Miss Rebels earlier in the year), but it might be as close to unstoppable as it gets. Nick Saban’s squad has pitched two shutouts on the year, after all. Once again, the team is only allowing 11.8 points per contest.

Browning could be in store for a long day when the Huskies take on the mighty Crimson Tide.

Bo Scarbrough Saves His Best Performance For The Biggest Stage

Bo Scarbrough might not be the No. 1 weapon on Alabama, but he could end up being the X-factor in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. While Washington’s defense will likely focus in on quarterback Jalen Hurts, look for Scarbrough to steal the spotlight with his best performance of the year.

100 rushing yards sounds about right, but don’t be surprised if Scarbrough rushes for at least 150 yards and also racks up a couple of scores in the process.

His season-high in the rushing department is 109 yards. However, he has racked up a combined 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns in his last two outings.

Washington Fails To Crack Double Digits In Scoring Department, Tide Roll To Championship Game

This prediction is dripping with bold.

The Huskies are averaging a whopping 44.5 points per game and are ranked No. 4 in the country for a reason. They appear to be more than ready to take on the defending national champs after winning the Pac-12 title with ease. However, Alabama is a different kind of beast, especially this year.

The Crimson Tide are flooding with talent, they are easily the best team in college football, and they just got done winning the SEC championship by the score of 54-16. Opposing teams can prepare for the Crimson Tide all they want off the field, but that does not mean they are going to find a whole lot of success on the field.

Anything short of a blowout in Alabama’s favor would be a surprise in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. However, Washington has a tremendous quarterback in Browning, a lethal running back in Myles Gaskin, and an offense that can make the scorekeeper rather busy.

Reminder, bold is the name of the game, and saying the Huskies won’t reach the 10-point mark has bold splattered all over it.

Nonetheless, all eyes will be on these teams when they meet up in the 2016 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
