Blake Shelton Surprises Fans Who Missed Concert Due To Motorcycle Crash

Blake Shelton recently surprised one of his fans who had to miss his concert after he was in a severe motorcycle crash.

Jonathan Daniels, 25, and his girlfriend, Lindsay Baker, 23, were supposed to attend Shelton’s concert in New York at the Barclays center on October 8th, but they never actually made it to the show. In a November 7 Facebook post, Daniels explained that he had purchased the concert tickets for Baker for her birthday, and was disappointed that she never got to go. He reached out to Shelton, asking him if he could somehow make her dream of seeing him in concert come true.

“On September 15th I was riding my motorcycle with a couple buddies when a young kid just happened to pull out in front of us,” Daniels wrote in his letter to Blake. “Fortunately only one of us was injured. Unfortunately that one person was me. I bounced off of the car and was ejected into a telephone pole which stopped me from moving. I was rushed to a nearby trauma hospital with life threatening injuries. The police on scene, and the EMT didn’t think I would make it through the night.”

Jonathan was in critical condition, suffering from two collapsed lungs, one punctured lung, brain bleeding, a lacerated liver, kidney, and spleen, three fractured ribs, eight fractured vertebrae in his neck and back, and two fractured shoulder blades. He spent 10 days in the trauma ICU, before being moved to another room to continue his recovery. In total, he spent 15 days in the hospital.

“My girlfriend never left my side and kept praying for me and made my stay in the hospital very comforting.. now because of this horrible accident,” Daniels continued. “We were un able to make the trip to Brooklyn. It is now a couple months later and she still has to help me shower, eat, walk, drive me around to my doctors appointments and I was just hoping maybe you would see this letter and help me give her the birthday present she deserves. All she wants is to see you in concert. It would just make her day and make her smile which is all I want to do!! Hopefully this letter makes it to Blake Shelton somehow.”

After his post was shared over 400,000 times, Blake Shelton caught wind of the situation and decided to reach back out to Jonathan and Lindsay. Shelton posted a video on Facebook, telling the couple that he would give them tickets to whatever concert they were able to make it to.

“I’m very sorry about the accident and I hope you recover soon and you’re feeling better,” Blake Shelton said in the video. “Obviously I’m totally ready to give you tickets to whatever show you can make it to, and don’t rush, for God sakes, take your time getting well and getting ready.”

“I got to meet you guys,” Shelton added. “Happy holidays. We’re pulling for you to get well.”

Jonathan and Lindsay were beyond excited to get a response from their favorite country music singer, and can’t wait to go his concert.

“So this happened today, I am beyond grateful to everyone who has helped us share this and get it to Blake!! He is an amazing man with a huge heart! Thank you everyone!!! #teambug”
