Another Roswell UFO Sighting: Craft Swoops In, Hovers Over ‘Numb’ Couple In Car

Another unidentified flying object (UFO) sighting was reported in Roswell, New Mexico, the site of possibly the most controversial UFO story in history, after a couple on their way to Carlsbad (in the southern part of the state) passed through the city. And according to the eyewitness, the sighting left them “numb” and wondering if what they had seen was real.

The Daily Express passed along an account this week that a couple from Albuquerque, on a trip to southern New Mexico, had spotted a UFO while passing through Roswell on their way south. The female witness subsequently filed a report with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) on November 11, recalling how the pair had stopped in Roswell to get something to eat before continuing their journey toward Carlsbad. On the way out of the city, they had to stop for a red light.

“Stopping at a red light, behind a couple cars, in our truck (vehicles all around us) we both noticed and said out loud the object that was coming straight towards us from the dark sky.”

The witness stated that she and her husband (who never identified themselves in the report) had witnessed “‘lights’ in the sky (around Albuquerque)” two weeks prior to their trip to Carlsbad, but quickly realized that the approaching UFO was “huge in comparison to the far away sightings” that they had experienced in New Mexico’s most populous city. Not to mention, this object was very close.

Reporting that she didn’t have time to get her camera “or to think really” as the incident unfolded, the wife admitted she did not want to “miss what was happening.”

“The object had lights on all ends, the front (or back) was more triangular with bright white lights, the back (or front) which was closest to us was more rounded but still triangular and had bright red, green and blue lights shining down. It was larger than our truck, appeared to be a solid object and appeared out of ‘nowhere’ and coming straight towards us.”

The witness admitted to being confused as to what the mysterious object might be. Her husband told her later that he had initially thought that the UFO sighting might have been an “optical illusion” but “dismissed it right away because I was at a different view point and there was no mistaking it was an object of sorts, not just lights from reflections.”

The couple first noticed the UFO when it was just “20 feet in front of us about eye level, it slowly and at the same time quickly moved right to us and then stopped/hovered right over top of our truck…”

Thinking she could get a look at the UFO out the back window of their truck as it continued on its path, but she was wrong. She said that “it was no where in sight when I did and at the same time the traffic light was turning green (husband was driving) and we started driving forward.”

The witness said she “felt like numb, like did that really just happen and where did the thing go?” She said that she did not think of it at the time of the sighting, but later wondered if others on the road and stopped for the traffic light had also seen the UFO. She wrote that “they must have.”

“I felt like it could have been a dream, but it was definitely real life.”

The witness noted that the entire encounter occurred “over the span of maybe 5-7 seconds and then everything was normal (ish) again.”

The MUFON report ended with the witness adding that she and her husband saw a black helicopter on their return trip. The aircraft seemed to be “carrying something large underneath it.” However, she also admitted to being “exhausted” on the return drive and unable to give exact details.

According to MUFON records (per the Express), Roswell has seen 44 UFO sightings since 2002, making it a hotspot for reported UFO activity. Of course, this only adds to the city’s reputation as the UFO capital of the world and host to a thriving tourist industry surrounding its reputation for the mysterious UFO crash that occurred in 1947.

That famed UFO incident, which, according to the Roswell UFO Museum website, was acknowledged as a crash site for a “flying disk” in an Army press release (and quickly retracted to amend that the wreckage was from a weather balloon), has become the focus of varying witness accounts, not to mention widespread speculation and conspiracy theories about UFOs, a government coverup, and an association with Area 51 (where the wreckage was purportedly transported and secreted).
