Gwyneth Paltrow Drinks Alcohol And Smokes Cigarettes Despite Healthy Lifestyle
Gwyneth Paltrow might be a health freak, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying a beer or puffing on a cigarette. Shockingly enough, the actress also enjoys her favorite junk food.
In an interview with Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller, Paltrow opened up about her strict diet, which she admitted that she sticks to most of the time.
“I try to eat organic foods when I can, eat local food when I can, and eat as little processed foods as possible,” she said, “but sometimes you need a bag of Doritos and a beer in an airport.”
Medine asked Paltrow if she “drinks a lot,” to which Paltrow responded with a resounding yes. The Goop founder said she keeps her glow by simply using her own skin care products.
“Because of my products! I swear by them; I’m not kidding,” she admitted.
“You can drink a lot and still look like Gwyneth Paltrow!” Medine exclaimed.
Paltrow also admitted that she doesn’t start her day with a smoothie or green juice, as her fans would assume. She said that she’s not a big breakfast person, and she would rather have a coffee with half-and-half. Paltrow also shared some of the cravings she had when she was pregnant with daughter Apple, she strayed from her macrobiotic diet and opted for “grilled cheese sandwiches, French fries, Jamoca almond fudge ice cream from Baskin-Robbins, yogurt, and apples.”
There’s no denying that Paltrow has her share of critics, especially when it comes to her healthy diet and lifestyle. She has since maintained a happy and positive attitude by allowing some of the criticism in her life.
“I actually really like criticism when it’s constructive and helpful and I love input, but when somebody’s coming to something with such a gender bias or a bunch of projections of their own s*** on to you it doesn’t help me, so I don’t engage in it. I just stay really true to my vision. I see a bullseye way off in my future, and I’m just like going for it.”
Paltrow’s comments come years after she admitted that she smokes cigarettes. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar back in 2013, Paltrow revealed that she loves organic food, expensive trips to the dermatologist, laser treatments, and Tracy Anderson’s workouts. She also likes to have the occasional cigarette, along with some tofu.
“It’s what makes life interesting, finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu,” Paltrow blurted. “My one light American Spirit that I smoke once a week, on Saturday night.”
She also opened up about some of her dermatological practices. Paltrow said that she would never have plastic surgery, but she has undergone several treatments.
“I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”
Paltrow has been on both the macrobiotic diet and the popular Atkins diet. However, in a recent report via the Daily Mail, women over 50 who follow these meat-based diets are at a “higher risk of heart failure.” Experts have suggested that women should base their diets around fruits and vegetables to keep their heart healthy.
U.S. researchers studied 100,000 women between the ages of 50 and 79 over the course of five years and found that 1,711 of them went on to develop heart failure. They found that women who ate more meat and protein were at a significantly higher risk than those who ate less meat. Women who hate more fruits and vegetables were found to have less heart failure.
The data was presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2016. Paltrow’s diet and lifestyle have become popular among women, but of course, it’s not as perfect as some would assume.
