Eva Longoria Seals First-Look Deal With Universal TV
Universal Television and NBC announced Eva Longoria signed a first-look development deal on Thursday.
Longoria will be acting as executive producer of NBC’s forthcoming Ready For Love, which is a new series focusing on relationships, and will be produced by Renegade 83, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, and Universal Television.
The former Desperate Housewives star signed a non-writing, executive producer agreement along with Longoria’s production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, Broadcasting&Cable.com reported.
Jennifer Salke president of NBC Entertainment and Paul Telegdy, president, alternative and late-night programming made the announcement on Thursday, The Wrapreported.
Telegdy announced how advantageous it will be to have Longoria as part of the project :
“Having Eva Longoria on our team is a huge advantage for our alternative program development as we have pleasantly discovered in implementing her ideas for ‘Ready for Love,’ which is shaping up as a terrific and upbeat series.”
Salke said Longoria would help provide vision to help develop the program:
“We know that this new agreement with Eva Longoria is significant in continuing what has already been a productive relationship. She has exceptional energy, vision, a prestigious name and the creative knack for finding compelling new concepts for our growing studio.”
Longoria’s best known starring role was as Gabrielle Solis on the series Desperate Housewives. She said she is particularly excited to be a part of the new project with Universal Television:
“I am thrilled and excited to join Universal Television on what promises to be a wonderful and creative partnership, especially given all of the recent success at both the studio and the NBC network.”
Longoria will also be executive-producing Lifetime’s Devious Maids side by side with Desperate Housewives Marc Cherry.
