Selena Gomez Reveals Her Bizarre Way Of Staying Healthy

Selena Gomez took a break from the spotlight to focus on her health while in the middle of her Revival World Tour. The “Hands to Myself” singer went to rehab to help treat the mental health symptoms of her ongoing battle with lupus. Since then, Selena made a surprise appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards on Sunday night.

The former Disney star has opened up about her bizarre new way of staying healthy, according to E! News. But, first, let’s get to the normal parts of her fitness routine. She revealed her fitness secret during a new interview with Elle magazine, which was published days after her emotional speech at the 2016 AMAs. Gomez said that she works out with her personal trainer, who helps keep her motivated to reach her health and fitness goals.

“I’m horrible at discipline when it comes to working out. So I’ve been working with my trainer Amy Rosoff Davis for a year now, and when we started the tour, I really wanted to keep it up. I wanted to be healthy; I wanted to feel good. I just wanted to make sure I was the best I could be for the show and for my fans.”

Davis was there with Gomez throughout most of her Revival World Tour. Gomez says the two go on hikes or on the Pilates machine. Then, she revealed her bizarre new way of staying fit and healthy.

“I have a sweat bed, which looks like a burrito that I wrap myself up in, and I sweat for 45 minutes,” she admitted. “Just little things to kind of keep me healthy and keep me focused.”

“You lay in these beds in a sweatsuit, and they wrap you up and you sweat for 45 minutes and it releases all the toxins of your body,” Gomez continued. “I know it sounds gross, but you just sit in your sweat for an hour and don’t immediately shower because there’s natural collagen in your toxins that it actually makes your skin feel softer before you wash it all off. It feels incredible.”

Gomez added that the sweat bed makes her skin glow and has changed how her body feels. Another thing that has been helping her is staying away from makeup whenever she doesn’t need it.

“I just can’t understand when – and no offense – people have to wear makeup all the time,” she added.

As for the worst piece of beauty advice she’s ever received, Gomez said that she was told to wear tinted moisturizer or self-tanner at night.

“For me, I just think that’s not my vibe, plus I do breakout,” she admitted. “I don’t know if it’s bad advice, I just think it’s kind of each to their own. For me, I can’t really sleep with things on my body or tinted things because I get worried. It’s not my vibe.”

The brunette beauty even admitted during the candid interview that she often has breakouts, but she doesn’t stress out over it. Gomez says she knows the pimple is going away on its own, so she doesn’t resort to any last-minute “procedures” or treatments to get rid of it. Gomez also said that she “loves” her hair and referred to it as her “staple piece,” but she also gets jealous of Blake Lively’s blonde mane.

That’s not the only actress Gomez likes. She also told the publication that she’s a huge fan of Rachel McAdams and her hair as well, calling it “beautiful.” Gomez says that she loves the way that McAdams can change it up with her hair.

Gomez made her first public appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards on Sunday night. She stepped out for the first time in two-and-a-half months after she sought professional help for her emotional well-being. During her appearance, Gomez thanked her fans for their support and told them that she wants to see their “heart” more than their “bodies.”
