WWE News: Five Huge Matches Announced And Confirmed For ‘TLC,’ Including Chairs Match, Title Ladder Match, No DQ

Survivor Series might only be in the rearview mirror by a couple of days, but WWE is already preparing for their next big event, which is the SmackDown LIVE-exclusive TLC. Violence and hard hits are expected as weapons will be encouraged to be used, and there is going to be no shortage of action. On Tuesday night’s episode, five matches were officially announced and confirmed, so the card is already shaping up with tables, ladders, and chairs.

A couple of weeks ago, Dean Ambrose won the opportunity to take on AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship, and it will be in a brutal fight. The two will face off at the pay-per-view (PPV) in a TLC match, and it is likely that the newly signed-to-WWE James Ellsworth will show his face as well.

As recapped on the official website of WWE, Ellsworth also won a future WWE World Championship shot on SmackDown LIVE. A lot took place on last night’s show, though, and four other TLC matches were confirmed and cemented in place on the card.

After winning the Intercontinental Title at Hell in a Cell, Dolph Ziggler waited for The Miz to enforce his rematch clause. When he finally did it on the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE, it worked out in his favor as The Miz captured his title back.

As reported by Cageside Seats, general manager Daniel Bryan did give Ziggler his rematch against The Miz for the title, and it will be a ladder match. Bryan also added that this would be the last time they will face one another, so if Ziggler doesn’t win it at TLC, he’s out of luck.

Becky Lynch is not about to back down from any challenges, and that is why she’s willing to give Alexa Bliss another shot at her SmackDown Women’s Championship. She did grant Bliss her rematch for the title, and the women will battle it out on Dec. 4.

As of now, there is no stipulation or gimmick placed on this match, but that could change before the PPV.

Baron Corbin blames Kalisto for causing him an injury and taking him out of the big match at Survivor Series. Since then, the two just can’t seem to leave one another alone, and the anger has been growing with each face-off.

Now, the two will be able to fight it out in a sanctioned match, and they’ll get to do it with weapons. Corbin and Kalisto will face off in a Chairs Match at TLC, which really isn’t going to end well for either one of them.

For months now, Nikki Bella and Carmella have had daggers pointed at one another, but they’ve never had much of a chance to really get out their frustrations. At TLC, the two will vent their fury in a No Disqualification Match to leave nothing in the ring and show who is the better woman.

That makes five total matches set for the SmackDown LIVE-exclusive event on Dec. 4, 2016, but there will be more added. On last night’s show, there was a tag team turmoil match to determine the number one contenders for the titles held by Rhyno and Heath Slater. The match was won by American Alpha, but things are never that easy.

After the match, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton appeared on the Titan Tron to let American Alpha know they hadn’t defeated every tag team. Now, WWE has announced a number one contenders match for next week between American Alpha and The Wyatt Family with the winners winning the right to fight for the titles at TLC.

Currently, the line-up for WWE TLC is as follows:

  • WWE Championship – TLC Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
  • Intercontinental Championship – Ladder Match: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • Chairs Match: Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto
  • No Disqualification Match: Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

TLC is less than two weeks away, and all of the superstars from SmackDown LIVE are getting ready to inflict damage on their opponents. Already, three titles are scheduled to be on the line with a tag title match to likely be announced next week. WWE is really working extra hard to build up a number of events in a hurry before the end of the year, but it certainly sounds as if they are up to the challenge since tables, ladders, and chairs will ring in the holiday season.
