Selena Gomez Is Not Feuding With Taylor Swift, She’s In Rehab Treating Lupus [Debunked]
Is Selena Gomez at odds with her longtime best friend, Taylor Swift? Not at all.
Earlier this week, a report surfaced claiming the 24-year-old singer, who is believed to be in a Tennessee rehab facility treating Lupus, had a falling out with Swift due to her alleged contact with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.
“‘Mean Girl!’ Inside Claims Selena Gomez And Taylor Swift Are FEUDING After Being BFFs!” a headline shared by OK! Magazine reads, according to a report by Gossip Cop on November 18.
“Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been inseparable for years, but according to reports, the ‘Kill Em With Kindness’ singer is finally done playing it nice with the blonde pop star,” the magazine explains.
Although there is no proof of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift’s alleged feud given by the magazine, nor has there been any proof of her rumored contact with Bieber, the magazine claims Bieber has attempted to reach out to Gomez and when Swift found out what he was trying to do, she reportedly became upset and allegedly wrote a letter to Gomez informing her that their years-long friendship is over.
In turn, Selena Gomez reportedly went from sad to angry “very fast” and supposedly decided to expose her longtime friend in a tell-all book. Selena Gomez allegedly “has some awful stories about how Taylor treats people… [Taylor’s] a mean girl,” the source explained.
But none of OK! Magazine‘s suggestions are true.
As Gossip Cop confirmed this week, Selena Gomez is not working on a memoir slamming Swift, nor is she writing a memoir about her experiences with anyone. In addition, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are not feuding and have no issues with one another.
Earlier this year, prior to Gomez’s stint in rehab, she and Taylor Swift walked the red carpet together at the 2016 Grammy Awards and attended the event as one another’s dates.
Selena Gomez first announced she would be taking some time off in August after feuding with Bieber on Instagram. At the time, Selena Gomez was about midway through her Revival World Tour and had recently performed a show in Auckland, New Zealand.
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Selena Gomez said in a statement to People Magazine on August 30. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”
“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues,” she continued.
Weeks after Selena Gomez’s statement was shared, Us Weekly confirmed the singer had checked herself into a treatment center outside of Nashville, Tennessee. According to the magazine, the rehab was described as a “private and quiet place,” but “super intense.”
Since Selena Gomez entered treatment, she has been spotted in Tennessee a couple of times. During one occasion, the singer visited a restaurant in Alcoa, Tennessee, where she graciously posed for photos with her many fans and staff members of the restaurant. Selena Gomez was also seen at another restaurant nearby, where she reportedly enjoyed breakfast with her grandparents.
